SAN RAFAEL LOOKOUT

Drive along the coast of the Barahona Mountain Range and come across the San Rafael Lookout! It is located right by the edge of the cliffs and offer an incredible view of the San Rafael Beach. It's one of the Dominican Republic's top lookout spots--and a must-have picture!

VISIT LOCAL TOWNS

Explore some of the many local towns around the area and discover the different local monuments and historical sites that tell about the country's history and it's indigenous roots. We recommend starting in Neyba, Bahoruco, a hotspot for eco-tour locations and historical sites.  After, you can sit down at one of the local restaurants, enjoy some delicious foods and beer, and listen to the vibrant Bachata music that is sure to be playing on the streets!

EXPLOrE EAGLE'S BAY

Located by Jaragua National Park, Bahía de las Águilas, Eagle's Bay, is one of the top beaches in the Dominican Republic. Due to its location it is only accessible by boat, but a guided tour to Eagle's Bay will leave you breathless as you get some beautiful coastal and open-ocean views. There are also many lodging options that include guided tours!

DISCOVER ENRIQUILLO

The Enriquillo Lake is the largest body of natural water in the island, spanning around 375 square kilometers with waters twice as salty as the sea (that's very salty)! The lake also hosts one of the biggest wild communities of American crocodile, so you may get to see a crocodile or two as you explore. Along the roads surrounding the lake, you will also find the Caritas Indigenous Caves, where you can view stones sculpted with faces made by the indigenous inhabitants of the island.

relax at ocoa bay

Ocoa Bay is one of the most beautiful natural treasures of the Dominican Republic. Hosting a variety of whitesand beaches like, Blanca Beach and Caracoles Beach, it is a great place to go to relax. Wine tasting is also a must-do in this area. At the Ocoa Bay Vineyard you can taste some wonderful local and Colombian wines while relaxing at the property's restaurant, which hosts a killer view of the Bay.

TOUR AROUND OVIEDO

The Laguna de Oviedo, Oviedo's Lagoon, is part of Jaragua National Park, the largest protected area in the Caribbean Region. It is home to a diverse fauna and flora due to the lakes hypersalinity--over 70 species of animals and fish call this place their home! The rhinoceros iguanas are a must-see of the area, which you can tour via boat.
